Quiet

I have been a little quiet on both webct and my blog. It has not been my intention however I have been trying desperatley to complete my concepts assessment. I have really struggled with it, it has taken me around 30 hours of time to get to where I am now. I am just finishing a few points off and after one more website for one concept, hopefully it will be posted on here by nights end......fingers crossed.

Well, I am sure I will be remembered as the girl in this unit who was ALWAYS winging, and of course lets not forget the stupid questions. Because of this reason I was not going to post this however I have read the discussion board and it looks like there are other people who are in the same position as I am....which is confusion. This concepts assignment is proving to be very tricky I am really struggling with it and after many hours of research (about 15) I have still not even made a decent start, I am hoping for some sort of brain wave so that something falls in to place VERY SOON!!!

my thoughts on blogging

I have already written this message but for some reason it has not come up....so here it is again.

I started using facebook about 4 months ago and it was only due to peer pressure. With relatives and friends living overseas and interstate, they told me that this was the best way to keep in touch. Now it seems I am totally addicted to face book and I am always on there for one reason or another. After our recent family holiday I couldn't wait to up load the holidays pics onto my face book page.

As far as other blogging goes, I think it is interesting. I can't believe just h9w many different blog sites there are out there, it almost seems like it has a cult following. I can see how some people use their blogs and think that it is great. It is a place where they can say what they are feeling at that moment, which I think is a good way to express yourself.

I think that as long as blogging is used in a positive way it is great.

I won't be using any other blog other than facebook due to the fact that I don't have the time for it, and whenever I have a spare minute I will usually be on face book anyway

What I have learnt about blogs

ADDICTION..........They can become very addictive. For example, I reluctantly started using face book so that I was able to keep in touch with family living interstate and overseas, as well as those friends that can't communicate in any other form. And now I am afraid to say that I am totally HOOKED!!!!!!!! I am always trying to check my face book to see what people are 'up to', and the first thing that I did on returning from holidays was go and start up loading my photos to show friends. I didn't understand how they worked at all until about 4 months ago and now I am a regular!!!!!!!!! As far as blogs out side of face book. I am surprised just at how many there are. I honestly couldn't believe that there are so many different types and the almost 'cult',like following that some of them have. I find them very interesting and I think that it is a good way to see what other people are like and what they enjoy etc etc.

HTML OVER!!!!!

Well the ongoing saga of my HTML page is FINALLY over. I felt so stupid in asking so many seemingly obvious quetions. I tried my best not to but if I didn't I would not have learnt. I am just sorry for all of those that are out there who had the painful task of having to read my silly questions. While my page is very basic, I am still happy with how it turned out..the fact that I actually finished it, is a miracle in itself. I have thanked Chris on his blog but wanted to say thanks to chris for "testing" my link and sending me an email via my web page, I recieved it so obviously worked which is great.

This part of my holdiay is over, I arrive home tomorrow. I have been on a three week road trip through victoria with my family, we go home for four days before going away again. However the next stint of holdiays SHOULD be much easier as we are not constantly on the move. There is a plan at home that entails hubby and the kids OUT and me at home to finish the concepts assessment, and I am actually looking forward to it......I guess that means more silly questions are on the way!!!!!!!!!

Getting There!!!!!

Well, As you may have seen in previous blogs I have been travelling for nearly three weeks now, and while I was booking all of our accomodation I specified I needed internet access, it seems that the best made plans don't always work out!!!! For example, one motel had a power surge and the net was down, another was waiting for technical support....bla bla bla and the story goes on. My poor family have been spending time in good old macdonalds as at least I can use my hubby's work lap top and access wireless through good old macca's. That does of course mean I am spending money there on the kids, on ice creams, drinks and of course the occasional meal.....ANYWAY The other little spanner in the works then is that I can not access my blog on my hubby's work computer bacause it is a social networking site and they are all blocked.....until now. A friend let me in a little trick and I have been able to 'unblock' it until the end of our holdiay at least........So now FINALLY I am able to access all parts that I need to on one computer and our current accomodation actually had working wireless internet...yeahhhhhhhh.

So clearly a few hurdles I have had to overcome. I am not complaining however, as they say 'what doesn't kill you makes you stronger' a little dramatic you say....MAYBE. However I would never have attempted half of what I have in the past, and even though I have had to overcome these issues with my internet access it has made me step outside my comfort zone. I have been accessing my blog from my mobile phone as well as finding out other ways that I am able to access and use the internet for my benefit. For those of you who are rolling your eyes saying BIG DEAL, go ahead, its ok. While I know that these things seem very simple and probably mind numbing for you, for me these are big issues that in the past I wouldn't have even have thought about or had any idea on what to do. I have finally finished my web page and also even started on the concepts task, so overall even with all of the stupid questions that I continue (and will continue) to ask, I am happy that I am at least getting there.

this is the second time at trying to post this. I have still not finished the html task. But i really need to concentrate on the concepts assessment. The html task is taking a lot longer than i thought. So i will post the question on the discussion board.

i am attempting to use the internet on my phone . This is something that i wouldn't have attempted before this unit. I just wanted to say thanks for the advice on the html task. I followed the advice and got a little further. I an hoping to finish it tonight. . . Thanks again for your advice. It makes it easier for me to ask all the silly questions.

notepad problem

I started the tutorial last night for notepad, and did exactly what it said and started up notepad, and followed the tutorial along the way. However when it came to saving it as a HTML it would not let me. The only option that I had was to save it as txt. However if I do it in a word document I can save it as HTML.

I have posted this question on the discussion board in the hopes that I can get this question answered!!!!!

HTML....SCARY

WOW........... I am finding this task fairly difficult. I have logged onto the web page 'so you want to make a web page'. I have read the first couple of lessons and I am very happy so far as they look like they are aimed at total derr heads like myself. I plan on doing the rest of the lessons tonight and hope that I have more of an idea after that. I have seen a few other peoples thoughts on their blogs and while I would like to say that this makes me feel better about the tasks I think it just intimidates me more!!!!! Anyway I am up for the challenge, so hopefully I willbe able to step up to the plate and work it out!!!!
